Defining Characteristics: (Specify, e.g., alterations in heart rate, respirations, color changes, erratic body movements, difficulty with feedings or prolonged periods of wakefulness.

Goal: Infant will display increased organization of behavior by (date/time to evaluate). Outcome Criteria

V Infant demonstrates quiet alert state and ability to habituate to environmental stimuli.

V Color changes with handling and movement are decreased.

V Demonstrates smoother transitions between sleeping and waking (specify how to measure).
