Mabinogion

Early medieval Welsh tales from the Red Book of Hergest, translated into English by Lady Charlotte Guest in the 19th century. Any aspirant to bardic rank was called a Mabinog, and the traditional lore he had to acquire came to be known as Mabinogi, of which Mabinogion is the plural, used by Lady Charlotte as the general title of the twelve tales she published. In the story of Llew Llaw Gyffes, Gwydion and Math made Blodeuwedd from "the flowers of the OAK, the flowers of the BROOM, and the flowers of the MEADOWSWEET". Blodeuwedd means "face flower".
